• What We Started With •

A LOVE FOR TEA

and our great country, coupled with a realization that tea’s health benefits and taste are entirely underrated amongst the very people who make our country great. This gave us the thirst (no pun intended) to set out on an intrepid but unmapped journey. Our destination? Opening a brick-and-mortar, high quality organic tea and beverage shop that doesn’t just serve great tasting tea and coffee but also serves as an educational resource that conveys how this great tasting tea and coffee will work to improve our country’s wellbeing. Embarking on this journey in the spirit of shared betterment is our way of contributing to and expressing gratitude for the country we live in.

Thus commences 50Cups.

• What We Are Doing •

Creating a community rooted in betterment.

We are carving out a space that encourages and assists each and every individual to take charge of their journey towards better health and wellbeing by way of serving “good for you” drinks.  While every person must pave their own road towards betterment, all roads start with the 50Cups community.

Meet the Team

Get to know the experts and the people behind the 50Cups.

  • She is our tea blender, whose expertise comes from training at the World Tea Academy and travels abroad to London. While Isabella is rooted in the north-east, she challenged herself with change: by means of location and career, to move to Raleigh and start up 50Cups alongside Jim. If you’ve ever been one of the first people to walk into Trader Joes at 9 am on Saturday when it opens, you've probably run into her before: she’s either there, working out, trying out a new restaurant in Raleigh, or blending tea (obviously). Her fuel? Green Tea which she drinks out of a mason jar each morning.

  • If you know Jim, you know Jim. He doesn’t stop. This is probably why after building and then successfully selling his CRO in 2014, he quickly thereafter opened a business consulting company, positioned himself to serve on the executive board for a multitude of businesses and began involving himself in the community by means of volunteer organizations. But Jim felt like he wasn’t doing enough to contribute to the bettering of our community, which is when he decided to open 50Cups. You’ll catch Jim running a 7-minute mile at 6:30 A.M. (on a Saturday) or enjoying an extraordinarily hot cup of Earl Grey Tea.
